Back To School Haul! Platos Closet & Journeys Kids

I've been doing a lot of back to school shopping. I'm so excited not only for a new semester but for the winter! Winter is my all time favorite season because I get to bring out the cozy sweaters, chunky scarves, stylish boots, and hot chocolate! I honestly wish winter was all year round!

I found these two Victoria Secret Pink sweat shirts that I thought would be perfect for those rainy days when I really don't feel like getting all dressed up to go to school at 8:00 in the morning! They're super soft and so comfy! What I also love about these, they were each $10! That's seriously a steal compared to the price you'd have to pay at an actual Victoria Secret store

You can never go wrong with a cozy cardigan! I bought three! All classic colors, grey, white, and black. I especially love the white one because it's all lace with a light pink trim around it. The black cardigan was from New York and Company. The funny thing about that one is that I actually bought my friend the same sweater for her birthday in January! I thought it was hilarious that I found it at Platos Closet, but then again it made me wonder if she dropped it off there!
These long sleeve shirts are so perfect for me. I absolutely LOVE the middle sweater and the one with the big red flower. They're oversized which makes them my perfect winter time piece.
I picked up two pieces of jewelry that I really liked. The one on the left is a simple long chain with a couple pearls and gold beads. The one on the right caught my eye mainly because I dont know what it is! It gets a lot of compliments though and its definitely a statement piece
Last but not least my boots! The pair closest to the camera are from Journeys Kids. I don't think I ever had such a comfortable boot! I wear these for my eight hour shifts at work and I honestly don't feel a thing when I come home compared to some of the other shoes I wear to work. I also really like them because a guy I know who works at the store hooked me up with his discount! The pair farther back are from Platos and I think theyre just so adorable! Studded bootie cowboy boots are a must for the fall (:

I absolutely love everything that I bought for this back to school season and the best part is all together this entire haul only cost me around $100! Let me know what you think of some of my new pieces!

Bad Day? Seven Things I Do To Unwind

I've been having a string of bad days one after the other and it kind of inspired me to share some of the things I do to get over a bad day and move on. I know with school starting again we're all bound to get stressed out to the max the next couple of months. Next time you're feeling a little down or stressed out try some of the things I do to get yourself out of that bummed out mood!

1. Take A Shower
Scrub all of that bad juju off in a nice warm shower! I swear it works. Sometimes I come home from work totally wigged out and a hop in the shower with the sweet scent of my shampoo and body wash totally calms me down. And I definitely feel soooo much better with all of the days worries swirling down the shower drain.

2. Take A Bath
If I've had a really terrible day I great myself to a bath with some of Lush's great homemade all natural bath bombs. Soaking in the warm bathwater in complete silence is a great way to release some of that stress wind down, especially before bed time.

3. Light Some Candles
Every once in a while I turn all the lights off in the room and just use candle light. The candle light calms me down and all the scents mixing together are perfect for calming down some of my nerves. To make it even better grab a good book to occupy your mind!

4. Play A Game
Sometimes just pulling out my tablet and playing uno or candy crush takes my mind off of negative things. When your mind I'd focused on something else like winning or trying to figure out a puzzle there's no time to dwell over anything else.

5. Talk It Out
Dan and my mom always get caught up in my day days haha. Just talking things out with them and venting about my work or school problems really helps. Especially when I get their insight in what I should do to make the situation better. Its always good to have an outside opinion on something you're stuck on.

6. Get A Pedicure
I find pedicures to be so relaxing. Having someone else worry about the hangnail on your toe is a great way to destress. Its great when you get to leave with cute looking toes too!

7. Watch A Movie
Just like playing a game when you occupy your mind with something else, like fictional characters and their lives, you're too busy to think about your own. Just don't go for a movie that has a similar plot story to what you're going through. That totally ruins the point!

August Favorites!

This month favorites is a mix between electronics, food, and beauty products haha. I've been way busy this month getting ready for school that I discovered quite a few non beauty products that make me very happy (:

TRESemme Keratin Smooth Keratin Infusing Smoothing Serum
This stuff is so great! I usually use it when I have a free day to do nothing and have no reason to blast my hair with heat or other styling products. Its a great way to relax my hair keep it smooth when its natural. I also love that I only have to use one pump for all of my hair! Products that require 3-5 pumps are just not worth it. You run out way too fast and spend more money than you really need to. One pump of this stuff is great and spreads very easily getting full coverage!

HASK Argan Oil Healing Shine Treatment
This little vial contains the most precious oil in the entire world! Argan oil is so great for your hair and I'm often recommending this product to a lot of my customers. Its great in wet or dry hair, but I usually apply it to dry hair after I've styled it. I love when I wand my hair and use it afterwards to tame some of the frizz. It makes the curls seem a lot more defined and I absolutely love that. The best thing about this product is you literally use a drop a day. I know this little vial seems like nothing, but It's lasted me a month already and I'm no where near empty! Keep in mind I use it every day and the vial itself cost $1!

Nutella 2 Go
I love Nutella! This little snack gets me through a lot of days. Just about every time I go to Wal-Mart I pick up a package for myself. It's a really great dessert and not that bad for you either!

Ecotools Makeup Brushes
I have finally found the perfect makeup brushes! I kept buying really cheap really crappy brushes that made my face itch and didn't spread the product every well either. This was just about the only cheap brand I haven't tried yet so I figured I'd give it a shot and OMG! The bristles are so soft and apply the product so smoothly! I also love that its made out of recycled and organic elements! I definitely recommend picking up a pack of these brushes!

Nexus 10 Tablet
I recently bought this tablet for school so I don't have to carry around my huge heavy laptop on campus. I really love this tablet! It's by google so it has google play and thousands of ways you can customize it unlike apple products which is a really big selling point for me. The screen is great and super clear. I seriously haven't been able to put it down for days haha

Brightening Sheet Mask Review

I first saw the sheet mask on Shay Mitchell in an instragram post she put up a couple weeks ago. I absolutely love her skin so I went in search of whatever it was that she was using and with all my research I found that its along the lines of an Asian sheet mask or paper mask. They're pretty much pieces of thin paper soaked in serum to help brighten your skin tone, refine pores, and moisturize. I found a couple places where you can order them online, but I really didn't want to wait for shipping and all that other crap. I saw online that Target had something pretty similar to what I was looking for so I took a drive over and picked up a pack.

They come in a box of 3 for about $9 which I thought was pretty affordable to the ones I found online. I tried to get a pretty good picture of both sides of the package so you can see the ingredients and read a little about the product.

PROS
  • Left my skin feeling extremely soft for hours afterwards
  • Great relaxing tool
  • Simple and easy to use
  • Excess serum to use on other areas
  • Has eye flaps so you can close your eyes and let the serum help puffiness and redness in the eyes
CONS
  • Little movements of the face cause the mask to slip off
  • Bigger than my actual face
There aren't too many cons to this product but I have only used it once. I'm gonna keep up with it once a week and see if it actually makes any difference in the look of my skin. Of course whats a good review post on a face mask without posting a picture of myself with the mask on?!

What's In My Makeup Bag?!

My makeup collection has been growing every day and I probably should slow down soon because its going to make me completely broke! Anyway, just thought I'd give you a sneak peek into my makeup bag to see what kinds of brands I use on a daily basis. Eventually I hope to do a quick tutorial on how I actually do my full face makeup routine, I'm just waiting for a better camera to film on rather than my webcam or HTC. So make sure you stay tuned for the upcoming video!

This is where I store all of my makeup. It's pretty messy and completely unorganized, but theres a method to my madness and it's okay! Mojo wanted in on the post too! (He actually broke the zipper on the bag while I was taking the photo -_-)
When it comes to primers I desperately need them! My skin is so dry if I just apply my foundations on my skin directly it looks cracked and totally disgusting. Pallado is definitely my favorite brand. I use the eyeshadow and foundation primer from this brand and they're really great! The price isn't all the bad either so it makes me twice as happy (:
Clinique liquid foundations are probably the ONLY foundations that don't make me break out. Especially the anti blemish liquid foundations. I've used other brands that say they have acne medication in them and they just suck and make me break out way more than I usually would. The WetnWild liquid foundation I have was just a cheap one I bought when I ran out of the Clinique stuff. It's so expensive and I don't always have time to run to Macys to pick up a new bottle when I run out so I keep this cheap version for those days. As for loose powder to set my liquid makeup I use Physicians Formula loose powder in Translucent. Definitely one of the best powders I've used.
All of my eyeshadow! My favorite part of makeup (: Most of my eyeshadow comes from NYX which is my favorite brand for eyeshadow. They go on really soft and creamy compared to other shadows I've used. The containers that say "tester" came from work. We were getting rid of a brand we carried, so I cleaned off the testers and took the ones I liked home haha. The pencils are from LA Colors. I don't use them often, but I like how long the color lasts when I do decide to wear them.
Lastly all of my eyeliners! I'm more into liquid liners than pencils, but every once in a while I like to pull out the pencil and just keep it simple when I'm feeling a bit lazy. Liquid liner in my opinion just pulls a look together completely and makes it look a lot more classy.

Vaycay And A Little Something New

Last week Daniel and I took a week off from our work lives and took a drive down to West Virginia to visit my mom and family. My mom recently moved into a different apartment so we figured we could take off some time to help her move some stuff around. The place is definitely looking great!

There wasn't really much time that we spent actually relaxing or doing things you normally do on a vacation, but we didn't mind being around the family. One downer was definitely the weather. We didn't realize the weather between Jersey and West Virginia would be two totally different extremes. What was 90 something degrees here in Jersey was only 70 something degrees there! So our plans for water parks and swimming definitely went down the drain :(

Scroll through some photos of what we did do though! BTW we got a new kitty!

First photo of the trip.
Daniel practicing his driving and me being typical Kimberly on the ride down
Got to see my grammie! & thats our new kitty!
Our kitty and my moms literally did EVERYTHING together!
<3 p="">
We got to go to Kennywood Amusement park with my cousin and mom
Like mother like daughter!
I found my prom dress in my moms stuff and just had to try it on!
The last day we all ate lunch with a view of the Ohio River
Of course on the ride home he knocked out on my lap <3 p="">
